STASHBUSTER T-SHIRT-ALONG: Friday 19th June, 9.30-11.30am UK TIME

Regular price £15.00

Date: Friday 19th June

Time: 9.30am UK time

Duration: 2 hours

We invite you to join us for our online pattern-cutting class: ‘The Scrapbuster T-Shirt-Along’. In 2 hours learn to draft and sew your very own T-shirt. A cut above your average T-Shirt, this design features nifty concealed shaping in the front panels and a flattering swing back. With minimal maths and measurements we will show you how you can draft your own dream t-shirt with your perfect sleeve-length and neckline. You can even extend it into a dress! With it’s panelled construction it’s also a great scrapbuster for all those lovely remnants you can’t bear to throw away.

The class will take place as a video meeting via Zoom so you can interact and ask questions along the way. Places are limited to make it as much like an in-person class as possible. 25% of the profits from this class will go to BLAM UK

 What you will need

 TO DRAFT THE PATTERN:

- Some large pieces of paper – pattern cutting paper if you have it but otherwise newspaper will be fine (preferably a broadsheet). A roll of brown paper or even wrapping paper brown is also a good option. Otherwise just tape together whatever you can find!
- A tape measure
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Sticky tape
- Paper scissors

 TO MAKE UP THE GARMENT:

*please note we will not sew up the garment during the class so you do not need to have fabric/sewing machine already in order to take the class. We will go through a variety of making up and finishing options in the class and you will receive all of this information as a pdf download to make up the garment in your own time.

- Fabric – pre-washed or well-pressed under a steam iron to sort out any shrinkage. This t-shirt will work in knits or wovens – in fact we recommend a combination of the two! As the front is cut in panels it’s a great way to use up a special remnant – a fun printed cotton or vintage silk scarf are great options. For a hip-grazing length t-shirt you will need approx 70cm of 130cm wide fabric for the back and side panels and approx 70cm x 35cm for the front panel.
- Thread
- Sewing machine – or go slow and stitch it by hand!
- Fabric scissors

How to download your Alice & Co Pattern

Alice & Co patterns are provided in three different page formats and are designed to be printed in colour.

Once you have purchased your pattern you will be given a download link. This will also be emailed to you so don't worry if you don't want to download it straight away!

The download will consist of a zip file containing 4 separate PDF files:

1x Pattern Instructions
3x Patterns in A0, A4 and US Letter sizes

*Please make sure you read the following instructions carefully before printing!*

For A4/US Letter: it is vital to make sure your pattern prints at full scale or the sizing will not be correct. Your print settings should be set to 'full scale', '100%', 'actual size' or equivalent according to your printer software.

There are two test squares on the first page of every pattern: a 5cm and a 2" square.

Print only this page first and check your square measures up, before printing the rest of the pattern.

For A0 copy shop: follow the instructions given by your chosen copy shop. Services are also available online - we recommend Patternsy - who print on lightweight tissue paper with very speedy delivery to anywhere in the world! Once you have purchased your pattern from us, simply click on the link above to go to their website and follow the steps to upload your pattern.
